17 February 2025

Banquet at the Beijing

Join us at the Beijing for a Chinese Banquet on the 17th February 2025.

On the 17th February, just as the 2025 Chinese New Year celebrations come to a close, we’ll be hosting a Chinese banquet at the Beijing restaurant in Horsell High St. 95-99 High Street, GU21 4SY.

Although 2025 is the year of the snake, we can promise there will be no snake on the menu. As in previous years, along with good company and a wonderful selection of chinese dishes, there will be plenty of entertainment and a raffle during the course of the evening.

Tickets are £40 for the meal, payable in advance. This figure excludes drinks. There will be a raffle.

Christmas Street Collections

December 2024

Santa and his elves coming to a street near you.

Woking Rotary Club is delighted to announce that, for the first time in years and weather permitting, Santa and his helpers will be collecting for local charities in streets around Horsell and Hermitage. We had planned a route around Kingsfield, too. But this had to be cancelled at short notice due to the ill-health of many of the ‘elves’.

In addition, we were at Morrisons supermarket on December 7th-8th and plan to be at Jubilee Square on December 15th-16th. Here, Santa, and his elves, will be making balloon reindeer and dogs—a favourite with children.

We look forward to celebrating the season of giving with you!

Tools of Change

Workaid is empowering lives in east Africa

How you can give a helping hand to Workaid's efforts transforming communities through the donation of hand tools.

For decades, this remarkable charity has been quietly revolutionising communities, one tool at a time. Supported by dedicated partners, Workaid is uplifting lives, empowering individuals, and fostering sustainable change across the region. It does this by refurbishing donated tools and equipment and shipping the items to countries in East Africa in order to provide long-term practical assistance to people needing help to escape poverty.
