The award was set up in the memory of Colin The Colin Kramer Award is presented to a child in the Woking Area who has shown exceptional resilience in the face of a life-changing event. The award includes a certificate and book token to the value of £100. It was set up in memory of Colin Kramer who was particularly keen to encourage children to read. This week as a memorial to Colin Kramer, Penny Kramer presented this year's Colin Kramer Award to Noah, a boy aged 10. He was accompanied at the Rotary lunch on Monday by his parents plus his head teacher. Sadly, Noah’s best friend had a brain tumour and he passed away. In his memory, Noah then grew his hair long and then eventually had it cut to make a wig for children undergoing cancer treatment. He has also climbed to the top of four mountains: Scafell Pike, Ben Nevis, Snowdon and The Brocken and through sponsorship, raised over £5,500 for the Hospice. At lunch, Noah bravely told us what he had achieved. He said that he felt proud when he reached the summits. It was also fun and a good challenge.
